Vincenzo Galati

Vincenzo

Galati

Art cannot be improvised. Vincenzo Galati, who chose not to follow an academic training, took a more difficult, but freer, path. To get started, he took inspiration from what he knew best: cooking. “At the beginning, I designed my paintings as I designed my dishes... It was a search for the right alchemy and the right mixture through a pictorial composition, an association of materials and colors. I used all my culinary bases and my old working techniques to continue doing the same thing, as if my canvas became a plate. When I felt a flavor through a harmony of colors, it was great! »

An artist and cook of Italian origin, Vincenzo never knows what to do when he gets to work. In his Workshop-Gallery, the paintings rub shoulders with the kitchen. The paint-stained blouse he wears is actually a chef's jacket. And it is with a knife that he brings his creations to life, whether culinary or pictorial.

The human soul is the painter's backdrop. He constantly explores his emotions, whether positive or negative, to create unique and expressive works. On his canvases, the metal frames delicately intersect, creating a welcoming layer for his famous Quadrato, simple geometric shapes which symbolize the beauty of the universe.
